Costa has maintained a superior food safety rating since 1995.
Costa takes quality assurance, sanitation, and proper standards very
seriously. Accordingly, Costa maintains a"Superior"
rating by the American Institute of Baking. (AIB)
As a prerequisite for certification, Costa, Fresh Ideas & Sensational
Salads maintains a full HACCP program.

Food Security
Our Food Security Program was developed to provide a safe and secure work place and a secure food supply by
using appropriate good business practices and monitoring critical control points.

Facilities
All exterior entrances are locked and accessible by key or proximity
badges only. All emergency exits are alarmed for exit. High tech video surveillance
cameras monitor entrance doors. All receiving/shipping doors are secured at
all times unless in use. Visitors and outside freight drivers must sign in
and show appropriate identification before entering the facility. All Visitors
are issued identification badges which must be visible at all times. Contract
security is on premises during non-working hours.
Employees
All employees undergo pre-employment background checks. Additional
drug, physical, and D.O.T. requirements will be verified where appropriate.
All employees are issued proximity picture ID badges, which must be visible
at all times.
Product Security
All incoming products are thoroughly inspected. The inspection process
includes quality, temperature, tampering, and pest control. In Addition, inspections
of inventory to insure freshness and date coding rotation are performed on
a regular basis. Appropriate AIB certification will be maintained for warehousing
and processing divisions. All delivery vehicles are secured with numbered seals
that are verified by the delivery driver at the beginning of the shift and
turned into Receiving at the end of the day.
